Uttarakhand Makes Key Policy Push On Health, Land And Tribal Welfare

Dehradun. The Uttarakhand government has recently cleared a major set of cabinet decisions aimed at overhauling health services, land governance and tribal welfare in the hill state. Officials said the package also targets industrial growth, education, energy and defence-linked infrastructure to draw more investment while protecting local interests.

Under the health reforms, the cabinet has approved a one-time inter-district transfer facility for health workers and supervisors who have completed at least five years of satisfactory service, a move expected to reduce staff shortages in hard-to-reach mountain districts.

The move is being projected as part of a larger effort to stabilise the public health workforce and improve service delivery across remote blocks.
